1) OH, GREAT. ANOTHER BLOG. SO, WHO ARE YOU? WHAT’S YOUR BLOG EVEN ABOUT?
Wattaonthego.com is the personal diary of a modern young African woman, Wendy Watta, who is really passionate about travel and lifestyle.
Okay, it was really weird writing about myself in the third person, so let’s try that again…
I’m Wendy, a 25 years old girl born in Chandigarh- India, bred primarily in Kenya and keen on trotting the globe to satiate my wanderlust bug.
2) WHAT ON EARTH DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?
I am primarily a journalist and for over a year now, have been working full time as a digital nomad (which allows me to run this blog full time) while providing content (on various subjects such as travel, food, news and other human interest features) to various local and international print and digital magazines, in addition to providing consultancy and digital marketing services for various brands.
I spend my days traveling the world and meeting new people, immersing myself in different cultures and trying various cuisine- preferably always barefoot, and then sharing those experiences with the world through my writing, photography and videography.
Since 2013, I have contributed to pretty much every publication in Kenya and several around Africa, in between working as an Editor. If you are interested in finding out some of the platforms I presently write for or would like to commission me to create content for you (either writing or photography) on any of the aforementioned subjects, feel free to email me on email@example.com.
I live for beautiful imagery and have grown to shoot my own content, take self portraits (since I’m always traveling alone) or set my camera and ask whoever is around to take photos of me. Yes, even strangers!
Most of my photos before April 2017 were taken on a Canon 550D, which presently has a busted lens. It is still usable but this year I have ended up hiring cameras for shoots several times. Let’s just say that I’m presently planning on getting camera equipment! (Although, if anyone from Canon, Nikon, Sony, Leica, Fujifilm, GoPro etc, is reading this, feel free to send me some gear ;-))
4) IS IT TRUE THAT ALL FEMALE BLOGGERS HAVE BOYFRIENDS WHO FOLLOW THEM AROUND TAKING PHOTOS FOR THEIR SOCIAL MEDIA?
Laughs hysterically. Car veers off the road. Continues laughing. Loses control of car and rolls off the road and down a cliff, thereby literally dying with laughter.
5) OH, SO YOU’RE FROM AFRICA! WHERE WERE YOU WHEN THEY WERE SHOOTING THE LION KING?
*Sends email to spam*
6) I WONDER WHAT YOU SOUND LIKE…
Like a robin chirping by a window sill on a sunny summer’s day. Just kidding. You can watch a video of 23 random facts about me below. Someone commented that I sound ‘legit’ *chuckles. The eye make-up is quite hideous, if I do say so myself. Aren’t you glad I’m not a make-up and beauty blogger?
Instagram (I post pretty much daily, and I’m literally obsessed with this medium. Even I would follow myself on Instagram).
Youtube (I absolutely love watching content on here! Been making videos since 2014, finally getting serious with it in 2017 and have been planning on vlogging more. Be sure to subscribe!)
Newsletter (I have been producing a monthly newsletter for this site since 2016, and it currently stands at about 3,200 subscribers. Subscribe to my website or email me on firstname.lastname@example.org to be added).
Facebook (I post daily, and mostly use this to share updates on new posts and videos)

WHAT ARE SOME WAYS WE COULD WORK TOGETHER?
As a travel influencer with a primary following of men and women aged between 22 and 40 and based all over Afica, I am always open to new ideas, but here are a few ways we could work together:
Love me, hate me or simply want to say hello? Shoot me an email on email@example.com. I look forward to hearing from you!
